I am a keen fvwm user, and was happily using a personalized fvwm2rc on my old suse 9.2 system, which I derived from the bundled default configuration.
I have just moved to a new 11.3 system and, since I noticed my fvwm2rc had problems, I wanted to compare it with the bundled default configuration. But where is it ?
I found one in /etc/X11/fvwm/system.fvwmrc which is not one of the official locations for it according to man fvwm INITIALIZATION section. Since the file was “signed” by Thomas Adams (the fvwm author), I posted a query on the fvwm mailing list.
As a result of this I interacted with Thomas Adams, which generated a revised version of the config file. He asked me to “send it upstream to SuSE’s maintainer for FVWM” on his behalf, but I do not know who such mantainer is, so I will be posting it here for somebody to pick it up.
As I do not see a way to attach a file, I will post this message, and include the file in a reply.
Incidentally, I verified that the file in etc/X11/fvwm/ is the one being actually read for an user without a custom config (with a silly trick, I duplicated an entry in a menu definition, and verified it did show in the menu).
