I have a weird issue with Opensues 12.3 x86 on my Acer Aspire 5755g. the function keys for wireless/bluetooth and screen brightness won’t work if I try them after starting up from a shutdown state. But if I set the laptop to sleep or hibernate states, after it wakes up the function keys work as they should!
It’s not affecting the other keys. Volume, Touchpad, Sleep, etc. they’re all working fine all the time.
Is there any ways to get the keys to work without sending the laptop to bed? I used to use fedora and I had no problems with function keys
It could be helpful if you mention which desktop you are using e.g. KDE or Gnome. I’m not suggesting it’s a desktop problem at this stage.
Also I seem to recall a post mentioning a similar symptom probably for a previous release and not recently, so it could take some time to search and locate. It’s late here so I will have to leave it for the “night-shift”.

I’m using the KDE desktop.
I also mention x86 which was a mistake. it’s a x64 version.
Thanks for mentioning the old topic. I’ll start searching for it as well.
