Hey guys, using 12.2 64bit.
I have an Acer Aspire 5742 intel i3 core processor.
Since using opensuse (12.1) i’ve had issues with full screen streaming videos. reading around the net it seems many linux users have to force their linuxbox to use Intel. although this is strange to me because it comes with what appears to be intel support out of the box.
it is possible i need the proper driver? or something of the sort.
help please:)

Hi,
Thanks for posting the output, but please post it between CODE tags, makes it much more readable, it’s the # in the editor.
There are no proprietary drivers for Intel graphics. You could try the new 12.3 Live media. It comes with the latest improvements, also in the graphics area.
Question: is this in all videos, i.e. also in locally stored mp4 etc.? Or just in web based flash video. If the latter is the case, disable the hardware accelleration in Flash.
hey thanks for the reply.
sorry lol i’m a fairly basic linux user, i just copy and pasted the terminal lines.
hardware acceleration doesn’t change anything. i use firefox, tried chrome for fun with no luck.
not entirely interested in upgrading to 12.3 yet, soonish lol.
it is possible i’m missing something.
but i’ve done the mmcheck and all that goodness.
i’m thinking it’s a driver issue. after time spent googling and reading forums it does look like linux has issues with i3 and i5 processors.
hopefully it gets worked out! opensuse is my favorite distro thus far. but this could be a deal breaker.
- when streaming a video in full screen it is choppy, once mouse disappears i have no control at all unless i push to the top-left for window switcher -
Try disabling desktop effects
Had the same problem with 12.1, even with the awesome community help never got the issue fixed since we could never figured out the problem. What fixed it for me was 12.2 and has continue to be fine even in 12.3, hopefully you get your answer or the next release works.
