How do I install FTP on the Apache2 (localhost) server?
Apache has a mod_ftp but it is not available in the YaST software management module. The Apache website says it does not ship with Apache. It shows in the Apache module list but cannot be enabled.
It doesn’t have to be mod_ftp. I just need to be able to use FTP on localhost (Apache, MySql, PHP).
If this is just so you can transfer files why not try sftp/scp? SSH comes
enabled by default in almost every OS on the planet and all you would need
to do is (if you haven’t already) unblock port 22 (SSH) on your firewall
and then use an SFTP/SCP client (of which there are several for every OS
assuming you don’t have one already, which is not likely considering this
forum) and you not only transfer files without installing anything extra
but you do so securely (FTP is completely insecure).
Good luck.
