Fresh TW install. Cannot install SCID - Python error

Set in our ways because a lot of us are old farts! Oh, and there is nothing wrong with it and it makes me feel like I’m getting better at chess. Other programs do not make me feel that way.

Anyway, I ended up just building the damn thing from source.

A side note:

This fresh install didn’t include openvpn nor another dependency that usually comes out-of-box libgthread-2.0.0 which castrated my VPN. Now it (Private Internet Access) works flawlessly - in case anyone else was having issues. Oh, and make sure you have libnsl1 installed - it’s deprecated but needed.

A bit of a moan now: why on earth does the install omit openvpn and git of all things when the whole selling point of the distro is that it’s:

For Developers, openSUSE Contributors, Gamers and Linux/FOSS Enthusiasts

Find me a developer who doesn’t use git or an “enthusiast” that doesn’t use or at least mess around with openvpn (either for yourself or clients)? Bloody genius!

Rant over, I’ll now go and shout at the wife for a bit. Many thanks to you all.
