Fresh tumbleweed install stalls on preparing disks

I am trying to install tumbleweed on a Lenovo T14 Gen 3 with SSD, starting from a factory windows installation. I am booting from a USB network image and using an ethernet network connection.

I want to remove windows entirely and use the entire disk, with separate partitions for /home and swap.

The installation spins for >8 hours on the “Preparing disks…” step.

When I reboot without the USB, there is still some kind of Windows recovery utility.

It’s been awhile (3-4 years) since I have done an install. For this installation, I needed to disable secure boot in the BIOS to get this far, which was different.

How do I troubleshoot this further?

How do I troubleshoot this further?

Disable TPM in BIOS and try.

Brilliant, that was the issue. Thank you.
