Frequent unnecessary alerts/warnings asking for pass words.

I am the only person using my Note Book with OpenSUSE 11.1. I only work both as root and user. There are no other users. Of late, there are frequent alerts/warnings asking me to give pass word and says “The session was locked by …. (i.e. user/me). Till I give the pass word and click the unlock button, it remains locked. This is causing me a lot of waste of time and irritation. Can anyone suggest a solution. I am a newbie and need clear instructions. Thanks.

First you should only login as user.

To your issue: Maybe you have set the screen to lock after as set period of inactivity?

I have exactly the same issue; every few minutes, with increasing frequency, the screen goes blank and a dialog appears claiming it’s locked and needs a password. It gets to the point where it happens every few seconds, and the machine becomes completely unusable.

Screen saver is completely disabled; it never activates.

I have this same issue, the session will lock saying “the session was locked by clt”. It happens frequently, and even when there’s activity. Any ideas how to fix this?

Just check the suggested by caf4926.

Maybe your screensaver locks the screen after restore, so you may need:

a) Set the screensaver not to launch so fast or just disable at all (you can
lock your session manually)
b) Set the screensaver do not ask for a password (not recommended if you are
in a office environment)
