Freezing Nvidia by OpenSuse 11.3 - Workaround -

  1. Don’t use this last driver, 256.44, instead some older one. For example I use 256.29.
  2. Disable immediately PowerMizer - Adaptive.

Note: after a while I found again PowerMizer configured on adaptive, but the system is still stable!

Have you testest the “nomodeset” option in grub ? I used it and i don’t have the freezing anymore.

nomodeset ? Oh, sure, I also added this one to avoid nouveau starting from initrd. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to stop the freezing…well, I was posting assuming people already attempted installing the proprietary driver, thanks for completing, I was in a such a hurry…:slight_smile:
