In the past, there were free openSUSE boxes for those who tested the beta releases and contributed bugreports and fixes. I did not spot anything similar this time; did I just miss it on the mailing lists or is there no such thing as free opensuse boxes this time?
Not seen anything for at least the last two releases. It may be because the boxes have been outsourced but may be because enough people were prepared to contribute without such incentives.

11.2 had it. I know, I have one. But it took a month or two.

I have one from 11.0. Back then I had to send in my contact information. I just wonder whether the call to contributors to identify themselves has already been made and I missed it, or if it’s still to come.
Which mailing list would be the right one to follow? opensuse-factory?

It hasn’t.

I don’t think so. If it was for many bugzillas, they know you. If you are a translator, then the
translator lists.
