This might sound trivial but I always try to click on the banner with “Forums” writing when using the default skin, and not on the lizzard on the left. I’d be eternaly grateful if a link to the main forum page could be added to said image as I think a lot of other websites handle it in a similar fashion and my senile brain can’t be bothered to learn new tricks. 
Using the default skin, directly below the mentioned banner there’s a link “openSUSE Forums” - what about klicking on that one? this will do the desired trick.

The top banner is easier to target. This seems to be a common behaviour on all openSUSE pages (e.g. news). But maybe it’s just me
