When I’m interested in a forum I’m used to subscribe to Linux forum (wired and wireless forums I’m interested in) and to get a notification whenever there is a new posting in a forum. That way I don’t have to monitor a forum but will be pushed by notification eMails
I don’t know how to place a subscription in a forum … pls let me know how to create a subscription for new posts on a forum
framp I don’t know how to subscript to a whole sub-forum section but when you make a reply to a thread, you will by default be subscribed to any replies to that thread. Due to the activity here in these forums, a message to you on any activity in a sub-forum would result in a blast of messages heading to your mailbox on the interval selected. You can setup the email messages for subscribed threads as instantly, daily or weekly. I use the default of weekly just to make sure I did not miss anything or a thread I am replying to.

I am subscribed by RSS to the (sub)forums I am interested in. I use Akregator (from KDE) for this, but other software is of course also available.
For this subforum (Forums Comments/Suggestions) the URL is e.g.
http://forums.opensuse.org/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=689
Not very obvious, but when I go to the start page on such a forum using Konqueror and click the orange RSS logo lower right, it asks me if I want to add the feed to Akregator. When I say Yes, it put it in the Imported Feeds list of Akregator from where I can move it to the place I want and give it a proper title if needed.

just “open” the forum you want to subscribe (e.g.
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-help-here/wireless/) click the
“Forum Tools”-dropdown on the top right menu and select “Subscribe to
This Forum”.
Great IOtz1009! Works like a charm. I just subscribed to both foren and it’s very useful all update notifications are collected in one eMail on daily or weekly base.
