In my case, i had both username & password filled after the redirection 
i atleast tried 3 times because i thought my internet is not working or stucked coz i was seeing the same page
Especially for me. I seem to notice it quite frequently because I keep typing my password in wrong (typo problems) lol!
Seriously though, if nothing changed on the input fields, in your case what visual clue indicated there was a “redirect”?
I meant to add that it is possible that in the absence of a redirect to a new login input with blanked fields, you could have hit one of those temporary short delays in internet/opensuse.org response for the duration of three failed attempts. Updating the filled fields then just worked.
