Hello,
when login into the forum, an OTP field named says “if you have one”.
I search in id.opensuse.org / ipsilon profile the option to set this 2FA but I can’t find it.
Is this only for some accounts ?
Regards
No, we don’t have support for OTP in the forums.
ETA: This is not actually a forum function, but the identity provider (IdP), and as far as I know, it is not enabled for general use. The forum staff has no control over the authentication system.
Unfortunately.
The username/password combination is outdated, so a 2FA solution would be welcome for logging into the forum and other openSUSE services.
Passkeys and TOTP are the bare minimum these days, but of course it’s not easy to add them to such a complex infrastructure.
Hello,
thanks @hendersj !
Agree with @Wolfheri : I hope this option will be possible for the forum members next. If so, I’d volonteer to test it.
Regards
This is not something managed by openSUSE Forums. If you would like to see 2FA support added, you can contact the openSUSE IdP/infrastructure team at admin(at)opensuse(dot)org. That should create a ticket for them to consider. No promises though.
Thanks @deano_ferrari ! Request done (no automatic answer yet).
I’ll report here if I get answer.
OK, I agree, but this all depends on SUSE IT, since they manage the IDP (ID Portal).
