Fortran IDE

I wanted to know what is available as far as IDE are concerned for Fortran. Any help would be appreciated, I have a little familiarity with microsoft visual studio(c++)and eclipse(java). Im not very proficient at programming so a very user friendly IDE would be appreciated so I can focus on the the actual code.THX

Give Eclipse a try. It’s a nice IDE. Comparable to VisualStudio.

Some others are;

In Netbeans you have to first set up a reference to your Fortran compiler.

  1. Tools
  2. Options
  3. C/C++
  4. Build Tools
  5. In the Fortran Compiler text box, set the full qualified path to your compiler, in my case /usr/bin/gfortran-4.3

Then in Netbeans you can then create a Fortran project using a Hello World Fortran application as a model.

  1. File
  2. New Project
  3. Samples
  4. Hello World Fortran Application
