I wanted to replace fedoraCORE 4 with openSUSE 10.3 on my PC while installing and checking the media it completed 99% of the check then threw a media error. Stupidly thinking that it was something small I continued to load 10.3. The installation was going well then after formatting the linux partition the installation threw a couple of errors i skipped the first three then decided to abort the installation re-download the iso file and try again this time with openSUSE 11.0 Here is my issue:
When I boot from disk the boot screen comes up but I have no installation option it gives me
openSUSE-11.0
failsafe-openSUSE-11.0
memory test
Hard Disk
Check Media
when selecting openSUSE 11.0 or openSUSE 11.0 safe mode it begins to boot then asks for a linux login
I don’t have a linux login because it didn’t give me the option to set one up before I aborted the 10.3 installation
The problem is when i insert the boot disk it doesn’t give me the option to install I have tried installing both the GNOME and KDE 4.0 versions with the same problem

so, the FIRST thing you should do ALWAYS do when wanting to install from
a SuSE install disk is to select “Check Media” and if it gets to
99.999999999999999% and then throws one tiny little error you THROW that
DVD/CD away…
or use it as a place mat…
but do NOT use it to try to install…
but, you have already learned that…right?
and, before you start over i suggest you read this, and its relevant
