I copied windows fonts (windows/fonts) to /usr/share/fonts/truetype and then did
akash@akash:~> su -c "fonts-config --verbose"

Creating cache files for fontconfig ......................................................................................
Rereading the font databases in the current font path ...

What is error. Also after this my firefox has corrupted. Not a single text is displayed in firefox. What can I do?
On my system #1
this is a bug with some win8 fonts, the bug is with some of the fonts themselves no way to fix it, just remove the fonts and rerun fonts-config
ps. for a single user setup you can copy your fonts in the .fonts dir in your home, kde has a nice gui for installing fonts too see System Settings/Font Installer
Ok my firefox is up and running but still I get the error
