As I type this, I can just barely see what I’m typing. The background is a very light gray and the words are a very light blue. I can just barely make out the words. How can I change this?
Any help here will be much appreciated. I’m really here to post regrading some other problems. Thank you.
11.4 KDE, about 5 days old. Yes, I have the nVidia driver installed [although it’s not clear to me that the proprietary driver (173.xx) is working “better” than the nouveau did since compositing slows this computer down so much that the system disabled compositing on it’s own].
The instant problem isn’t (so far and so far as I’ve been able to tell) a global one – just on the openSUSE forums site. I don’t know my way around KDE. I was thinking it was just a matter of going to the appropriate menu location and making a change in how background and text is displayed.
And it’s not on the whole page, but just in the reply and topic fields.

is this system wide, all the time, in all apps into which you can type?
or just everything in firefox? location bar, search blocks, web mail?
or just every message posting window in the openSUSE forums?
or ??

Q: Why do you upgrade?
A: Because the Gecko is always greener on the other side!

No, it isn’t system-wide and, no, not in all apps into which I type. And not in everything in Firefox. As far as I’ve been able to tell, it’s just every message posting window in the openSUSE forums.
I’ve had the same thing happen in my other systems (gnome) and (on various apps/websites) I just go to system>preferences>appearance and temporarily change desktop theme to a different theme. But changing desktop styles in KDE didn’t alter that inconvenience. And since I’m not familiar with KDE (and even more unfamiliar with KDE4), I don’t know where to go or what to. Other than come here. Question too exclusive for Google.
To tell you the truth, I’m in 11.4 KDE so infrequently and when I am there, there are so many other problems going on that I don’t know how pervasive the “font too light” inconvenience may actually be. An average of three out of five boots, I’m not able to get on the internet at all, so this problem in openSUSE message posting windows isn’t that often.
