I have just installed OpenSuse 11.
The graphics card is Intel G33.
Once installed the fonts were so small that it is impossible to read. I have managed to get the desktop fonts and help files sorted out, however, if I go into Yast or some of the other applications the fonts are still unreadable. The question is: how do I chage the font size in these applications?
I seem to recall, in previous experiences with Intel graphics, you can’t use the default “intel” driver. For some reason, it simply does not yet behave well. As recently as SUSE 10.3, I had to use the “i810” to correct any number of hassles. The quickest way is to directly edit the file at /etc/X11/xorg.conf. If you need more detailed help, simply ask.
The other issue may be the display aspect ratio. If the font DPI isn’t square, it can make things really ugly and hard to read. If you have no idea what I mean, I explain in some detail here:
