** wormulove,** have you considered trying out mmcheck to see if your multimedia is configured properly? It is a script file you can capture from a forum message, save into a text file in your personnel /bin folder and run in terminal to check out your multimedia setup. Message #21 contains the most recent version of mmcheck.

MMCHECK - Check Your Multimedia in 10 Steps - Script File, as proposed by RedDwarf

Thank You,

great script and a easy one to follow however I checked for mplayer and following result is shown

MPlayer-1.0rc4_r31930-1.pm.3.4-x86_64 -> PackMan :: Startseite
package mplayerplug-in is not installed

You should expect to have two MPLayer packages installed and all from Packman.
----------------> MPlayer <---------------------- from the Packman Repository.
----------------> mplayerplug-in <--------------- from the Packman Repository.

but i don’t think plug in will have control over it any suggestions

While I am not sure just what the problem might be, I recommend installing ALL of the applications that mmcheck is looking for. The reason is that installing the recommended ones causes perhaps four times additional & required programs to be loaded. What mmcheck looks for is the top most applications, which when loaded, have many more requirements. Once all such requirements are fulfilled, most of the issues that exist just go away. Unless you are running out of disk space, loading it all does not hurt you in any way.

Thank You,
