I’m sure some of the members of the OpenSUSE community have heard about this project before, but I thought it would be a good idea to open a new thread about it. For those who don’t know what the Folding@Home project is: Folding@Home is a project by Sanford University to find the cause of illnesses linked to the improper “folding” of proteins in the body. To support the project, all you need to do is simply install a program from the Folding@Home website (link below), and run it in the terminal window while your system runs. It doesn’t take up much CPU usage (if you are using a 64bit, it only takes up the 2nd CPU, and doesn’t use the first) and can be discretely minimized to the task bar on the bottom of your desktop. It requires no work on your part, except to start it when you login to your system. All information on this program can be found below, along with a tutorial on how to install the program. I just though since it was for a good cause, it would be a good idea to get the word out about this project. Help save lives & make a difference!
