Hi, i just figgured this out… The other day Home folder on desktop didn’t work, i clicked on it and mouse icon would just load and load, but it didn’t open it, i had to go to Menu → Places → Home to open it… Anyway i created my own shortcut to Home and didn’t pay too much attention to it…
But today i connected my phone via USB and folders mounted on desktop and i got the same behavior, when i click on it, the whole desktop icons disapear and reload but folder doesn’t open… And when i go to network, the same thing happens…
I recently reinstalled my openSuse, could it be that it took the settings or something from the old instalation???
How can i fix this? Thanks…
When you reinstalled, were there two or more users and have you entered the users in the wrong order so that their numbers no longer match their names?
No, i used the same username as a previous installation…
You mention different version but don’t say which???
Also which desktop???
If you did a new install and did not format the home partition then you do still have potentially messed up configuration files in your home directory.
Not knowing the desktop I can not give you fix instructions.
You may try to add a different user account and see if the problem happens there.
I use OpenSuse 11.1, Gnome desktop…
I guess that my Home directory remained, but i used the same username when i reinstalled it, anyway, how do i reset the settings?
Ok, i’ve fixed it…
Created a new user, logged in uder that account and copyed all my files from previous account, deleted the old account, renamed current account into old one…
It’s working now… And after a bit of playing with settings i learned that this starts to happen because of Nautilus-actions, i added a “faulty” script that works normaly in terminal, but not when i try to use it via Nautilus-actions…
Oh, well… Nothing’s perfect…
