Focus remains stuck on firefox no other windows register clicks

Hello everyone,

I’m on my laptop, Leap 16, and this issue happens quite often (almost every day): focus is stuck to Firefox and I can’t click on any other app on the task manager and, when I use Alt+Tab to switch to another app window, any click is registered still in firefox! - I tested this with a paused youtube video inside firefox and, upon click inside dolphin, nothing happened inside dolphin but the youtube video started playing.

I don’t know if it is related to firefox or it is simply that I use firefox more often than other apps and thus it happened while firefox was on focus.

I don’t know if this happens the moment I resume from suspend (opening the laptop lid) or it is after a while from resume, during usual use.

killall plasmashell && plasmashell does not solve the issue, I have to logout and re-login.

Does anybody have any idea what is wrong? - maybe there is a topic about this which I didn’t find yet?

Or is there a command that I can use so that I don’t logout and re-login?

Thank you!

Here’s one simple test to see if this issue is system-wide.

Create a brand new user account. Next, log out of your regular user account. Next, log in as the new user. Use Firefox as you normally would, plus any other programs.

  1. Do you see the same issue using this new user account?
If you do NOT see the issue occur, this might indicate a problem with your regular user account.

  2. One other question … has this been an issue since you installed Leap 16?

Thank you for your response.

I will try your suggestion #1.

Re. #2, yes, this is happening since installing Leap 16. It does not however happen on my Leap 16 desktop.
