FN key problem

My problem is strange though. I have been using opensuse since v10.2 and the compatibility with my compaq nx9020 is perfect.

Until a few days ago…

As in most notebooks I use “fn” key for varios operations, mostly - for writing numbers (I hold FN and then press numbers on the right of my keyboard). now writing number doesnt seem to work anymore. Although other operations with fn key works fine (like adjusting brightness and volume).

I checked xev on terminal. Here is what I get:

KeyRelease event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window 0x3400001,
    root 0x56, subw 0x0, time 7976075, (325,422), root:(328,445),
    state 0x10, keycode 87 (keysym 0xffb1, KP_1), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (31) "1"
    XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyRelease event, serial 33, synthetic NO, window 0x3400001,
    root 0x56, subw 0x0, time 8000638, (121,201), root:(124,224),
    state 0x10, keycode 88 (keysym 0xffb2, KP_2), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (32) "2"
    XFilterEvent returns: False

Now it seems that it should be fine but it is not. I press the key combinations nothing happens. Any ideas?

Ah, yes, I am running GNOME on OS 11.
