I’m sorry, I don’t remember the source. I have a news feed on my Android phone and it came through there with dozens of articles on various other topics.

I will try the checkup you suggest.

@Prexy then it is most likely wireless interference…

The output you shared suggests you’re using 2.4GHz channel connectivity. Is it a possibility with your hardware (wireless router + PC wireless chipset) to switch to using 5GHz Wi-Fi channels instead?

This could result from an accidental misconfiguration permanently stored in the router. You may try and turn off the laptop. Go to the menus of the router and delete all information about the laptop. Then turn on the laptop again and reconnect.

I did this and the router immediately registered the laptop with the old settings! Probably not my router since when I am in public spaces here in my retirement community, I have the same issues. I have a laptop with a dead motherboard. I retrieved the memory and storage and was looking to recycle the laptop. It is obvious what connects to wifi? Is it possible to place that better hardware in my problem laptop?

@christomonte11 sent me two ThinkPads W530. I replaced the defective components of the first one with working components from the second one. There are numerous instructions available on the internet. Search for your model.

Which just tells me that whomever set up the wireless in your retirement community also probably did not do a proper site survey or deal with interference issues either.
