flightgear won't start

Hi guys, recently I attempted to install flightgear. I got all the prerequisites and successfully installed it with ./configure, make, make install. When the install finished, I ran /home/danotto/Documents/flightgear/FlightGear-1.9.1/bin/fgfs, with the scenery prefix following, but it then gives me the error:

danotto@linux-oi5l:~> Documents/flightgear/FlightGear-1.9.1/bin/fgfs

Base package check failed ... Found version [none] at: /home/danotto/Documents/flightgear/FlightGear-1.9.1/share/FlightGear
Please upgrade to version: 1.9.0

The opensuse wiki I used as a guide to install it was a little outdated but I still manager to successfully install it until this problem came. I have the base package, ~200 mb large. Also, I’m on a Dell Inspiron 1525 with integrated graphics, so mabey that’s a problem… and when I go to yast, hardware, graphics, the box saying 3d accelerated is checked… Thnx in advance!

also for some reason torcs crashes when it loads a race…

Flightgear is a bit of a pain I kept coming across the version mismatch here I did succeed but ended up telling it what version. As I prefer rpm over straight install its spec based. Not tried it on 11.2 but this did work…

Ah, forget about flightgear, I don’t have a powerful graphics card… But with torcs I disabled 3d acceleration and then it didn’t hang on “ready” but went to the race. Problem is it’s running at like 4 frames per second. Any suggestions?

You disabled 3d acceleration maybe, well that would be the reason for framerate. What kind of framerates are you getting? If low then it may just not be feasible, but though low spec would of thought it would have enough.

I happily played flightgear(Not sure on torcs not played it) on a fx5200 256mb, also rule out all the fancy gui stuff, cubes, wobbly windows etc…
