my system has flickering application windows
weird thing is that it is not with all applications
main culprit: openshot (since I do a lot of video editing)
I scanned through the posts here and other forums, but non of the provided suggestions brought about a solution
if someone has encountered a similar issue and found a fix, I would be grateful for some pointers.

2010 Mac Mini (single boot) with:
2 Intel Core Duo CPU p8600 @ 2.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 320M Graphics Card
16 GB RAM and a 480 GB SSD [/LEFT]
Is your TW installed alongside MacOS? If yes, does the same thing happen in MacOS? If yes, there could be a mechanical failure with the GPU.
If not multiboot, can you live boot something other than TW and have the same problem there?
Has your Mini ever had a cleaning inside? Excessive dust accumulation could be causing the GPU to overheat, possibly causing deterioration of the heat sink compound.

Tumbleweed is the only OS on this Mini.

I started with Leap 15.2 and it installed fine, and as far as I was in that Distro, the display looked and felt okay. However, I did not test a lot of applications, since I used 15.2 as a base from which to upgrade to Tumbleweed.
Leap 15.3 simply would not install the EFI Grub boot loader and could not be launched at all

Not recently, but I was thinking of that. I also talked to some Apple repair technicians, whether it would still be possible to run the macOS HDW test, even though the Mini runs a non-native OS

After several Zypper DUPs of Tumbleweed on my Mac Mini, since the initiation of this thread, the issue of flickering application windows appears to have resolved itself.
I have no idea which update/upgrade did the trick, but the display seems stable at least for the time being.
Therefore, this thread can be closed.
I’d do it myself, but I read, that only forum staff can do that (if there is an option for initiators of threads to close them, I’d like to know how, so that ghost posts, at least from me, can be avoided.
