Feel a little foolish as a newbie, but can’t get Flash player to work with Firefox, or even on it’s own. Running:
Linux 2.6.27.29-0.1-default x86_64
openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64)
4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) “release 4.10.4”
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz
I have used YaST to unsintall and reinstall several times. When I try an ldd, I get several missing libraries:
libplc4.so => not found
libplds4.so => not found
libnspr4.so => not found
libplc4.so => not found
libplds4.so => not found
libnspr4.so => not found
libplc4.so => not found
libplds4.so => not found
libnspr4.so => not found
libplc4.so => not found
libplds4.so => not found
libnspr4.so => not found
I found some of these in the /usr/lib64 directory and made symbolic links to both /usr/lib and /usr, but ldd still comes up with them as “not found”. Am I linking to the wrong location? Why is ldd not seeing them (I checked the directories and they are visible)?
I have also tried deleting the libflashplayersupport file, but also no change in satus.
Hi and welcome
On 64bit systems there are generally equivalents called 32bit that
would be installed in your case it’s mozilla-nspr-32bit which
provides the libraries.
Now that being said, I would imagine that removing flashplayer and the
libflash library and installing the 64bit version of flash would help.
Working now, or at least shows up in Tools menu and most videos seem OK :). Some come up with a rotating wait icon forever and don’t seem to start playing. Trying to find the common thread for the ones that won’t work.
