Flash video etc in Firefox

Hi,
I am new to Opensuse but with some Linux experience, having used the now seemingly abandoned Xandros for 3 years and SUSe (v. 2.0?) many years ago.
My major beef with my previous Linux distros is the pain involved in getting multimedia files to run in Firefox.
Xandros was out dated, so I’ve gone to SUSE 11.0 KDE ( installed from Live CD) to get modern. So far I like it.
Unfortunately, I am already having problems with Flash in Firefox and read in these forums with dismay of the convoluted procedures involved in getting, say FLV files to run in Firefox.
All I want is to see the hockey highlights at NHL.com or where ever.
Is there a guide to properly set up Firefox to run multimedia anywhere, so I don’t have to spend days and weeks trying to get them to work?
These are early days and due to a change in HDD’s I will be reinstalling OpenSuse this week.
I’d like to get this right the first time if possible.
Any tips for the pros would be appreciated.Show me the way, master.

I’d really not have to boot to XP to watch the “Goals of the Week.”

Sorry if this sounds like a rant, I am truly keen to use Linux 100%.

Cheers

I didn’t do anything special. The only time you need to do something special is if you have a 64bit OS, which is one reason why I don’t bother. Assuming you have the 32bit opensuse, you should just be able to do the normal Adobe install of Flash. Works just fine.

Thanks for that…I feel the tension slipping away…

worked a treat after fresh install!
