Any help is welcome
.

Please check Firefox’s “Add-ons-Manager” for the status of the Shockwave Flash (libflashplayer.so) – “never activate” may possibly cause this issue.

It is set to “always activated”

Hi JCD,
then there is something strange with the Flash Player permissions:

Also, take a look in the KDE System Manager and search for Adobe – check the Flash Player settings.

What is "KDE System Manager"

Please excuse my French:Centre de contrôle pour KDE et les espaces de travail.
https://userbase.kde.org/System_Settings/fr

By the way, I’m also running 13.2: 3.16.7-29-desktop with KDE4/Plasma-4 and Firefox 42.0-50.4.x86_64.
YouTube movies such as the Americas Cup AC45F footage are playing just fine.

OK. This is “Configure Desktop” on opensuse.
But in what section do you find your Adobe config.
I have found none.

I had a try. So do I.

This had worked for me until I did a new install.
Perhaps some libs are missing.
I am going to add some multimedia apps ( like vlc ) and see what happens.

Unfortunately I have German language machines – for me it’s the (translated) “System Settings” – KDE “Menu” > “Favourites” > the crossed Spanner and Screwdriver Icon. And then on the top row “General Appearance & Behaviour” and within “Personal Information”.

Are you certain that the TV clips are using Adobe Flash?
Or, do you need the Multimedia Video Codecs?

Hi JCD,
I have a really stupid question: is the OpenH264-Videocodec supplied by Cisco Systems, Inc. included in your Firefox add-ons?http://www.openh264.org/

Best regards

how about posting a list of your repositories

zypper lr -d

adobe flash was removed from the official repo’s and can now be found in packman or from adobe’s server.

With 13.2 Adobe Flash is still in the NON-OSS Repository:
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.2/repo/non-oss/
http://download.opensuse.org/update/13.2-non-oss/

I’m on LEAP and there is no official flash for LEAP I thought they wore removed from the other distro’s they might be removed.
https://en.opensuse.org/Adobe_Flash_Player#Adobe_Flash_Player_no_longer_distributed_by_openSUSE

those are old versions, 11.2.202.**411 **for 13.2 and 11.2.202.**310 **for 13.1
https://software.opensuse.org/package/flash-player
mozilla might be blocking them as they have done before you need to update
packman has 11.2.202.**548 **

doing a dup with packman is simple enough what’s your repo list

zypper lr -d

True, but an update for 13.2 and 13.1 to the latest 11.2.202.548 is currently running:

Should be out in the next days…

So it looks like 13.1 and 13.2 are still being kept up-to-date regarding flash-player by official updates.

For Leap, flash-player has been removed completely though (from the official openSUSE repos), as you write.

mozilla blocks old flash the OP can check in the Plugins tab in about:addons if mozilla is blocking his flash, a dup to packman will fix it now.

I know.

I just wanted to note that flash-player has not been removed from 13.1 and 13.2, and will still be updated apparently.
But as always, it will take a few days until an official update is released, this is nothing new.

a new Mozilla block for Flash for Linux versions 11.2.202.509 to 11.2.202.539 is out
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/blocked/p1044
those are the versions for 13.2 and 13.1 currently hosted in the non-oss repo’s
a dup to packman is a must

The official update (to 11.2.202.548) has been released meanwhile though, so switching to Packman is no longer necessary.
