Hi! I didn’t know where to post this exactly, for that I’m sorry, but here it goes, I hope some moderator can take this message to the request list or something.
All laptops LG LM70 Express and LG LW65 have a problem with “pcspkr” module. If this module is active, everytime the user presses the tab key in the console, or the backspace ( doesn’t matter if its the tty, or konsole, gnome-terminal, xterm… ) the system crashes. I found out what the problem was about half year ago, and until I did it was a very anoying bug. All I do now is everytime I install some linux distro, I edit “/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist” and add the line “blacklist pcspkr” to the end of the file, reboot, and my system is OK to do everything, no more crashes :). What I’m asking is that if someone can make this line default on the installation of opensuse in the systems mentioned above ( I’m not quite sure, but I think it shouldn’t be to difficult ). I’m sure many people have experienced this problem and don’t know the trick to solve it, after all I had to search a lot till I find the solution. One fix I tried at first was to disable acpi via grub on booting, but then the laptop would go extremely hot, due to the processor being at maximum all the time. But disabling the module of the speaker solves the problem :).
PS: I’ve tested in both laptops mentioned above, and it works.
