fix for gdesklets

Hi.
Made a quick hack for making gdesklets start in opensuse11.1

In file /usr/lib/gdesklets/utils/ErrorFormatter.py

line 116

Original:
def _new_imp(name, globs = {}, locls = {}, fromlist = ]):

Ugly Hack to catch the fifth argument:
def _new_imp(name, globs = {}, locls = {}, fromlist = ], test = ]):

I have not even checked what the 5`th argument containes even, but this works for me.

Can you copy the /usr/lib/gdesklets/utils/ErrorFormatter.py file that you used and send it along?

Thanks in advance. Every time I launch gDesklets it just hangs and dies.

I can’t seem to get that eye-candy going. LOL!

I can spin my Desktop with CF, but not find any Desklets that work with openSuSE 11.1

I miss my Desklets.

Maybe your Problem is somewhere else.
Try to reinstall phyton. Maybe that’ll help.

You may be right, I always like to play with a lot of stuff. And, eventually I break things. LOL!

Anyone figure this out yet with gnome?

I tried that with YaST build .36.06.-67 i586.

It doesn’t even load. What else would be needed?

I have install gdesklets butit only shows 4 useless desklets, how do I get the full bank of desklets (especially the monitor sensors!!!

I have googled like crazy … help pls

Thought you’re following the original discussion.
Did you went to the gdesklets sight to find out if the desklets are still available?
You can use gkrellm as an alternative.

FYI most of the functionality can be found in the new Widgets. I’m sure as time goes on more widgets will become available to fill in any gaps.

I have the same problem with only 4 useless desklets, and would also like the full bank???
