I have a Lenovo S10 netbook that needed something other than Windows. I tried Ubuntu NR, and although everything worked, the machine ran hot and the fan, needless to say, was on just about all the time. I read some reports indicating that SUSE was better with battery life and power management. It seems to be true, and so here I am. The install was a bit bumpy at the end with problems occurring once the first updates came down with the kernel update, but it was definitely worth it. The instructions for the Broadcom drivers from the Packman repo were easy to find, and they seem to be solid. I did not expect SUSE to be so nimble on this hardware with only 1gig of memory, and Desktop effects installed and enabled by default. Nice. Looking forward to having fun learning and finding my way around on the OS and Linux in general. Great job openSUSE Team.
