First Install No Operating System Found

Lenovo ThinkPad (Edge 325) With UEFI BIOS, Open Suse 12.3 KDE.

First install over the top of Xubuntu accepting the defaults, I got dumped at a GRUB recovery prompt, since messing around with MBR boot & various other manual settings I now get no OS found. I would love to use Open Suse as reviews are very favourable, but computer says “no”. Am I dead in the water?

:frowning:

Hi !

hmpf

No defaults anymore ? What do you mean by ‘messing around’ ?

Probably not.

But you should tell a bit more about your system.

Do you have other OSs than Xubuntu ?
What kind of machine do you have ?

Good luck
Mike

When I say messing about, I mean manual partitioning. I purpose SUSE to be the sole OS on laptop. Some more on the specs that I can glean;

E450-AMD APU Dual Core Radeon HD 6320 Discreet.

Well now…

The latest kernel should support UEFI, but I had to switch to Legacy Mode in BIOS, whereupon recreating the partition table was key; deleting previous GPT partition table. I write this from SUSE. Reference:
