A minor annoyance, but still.
I often close down my computer/DE, leaving FF open, so next time I switch on and launch FF it restores me to where I left, tabs open etc etc (I do have save session and exit, but I CBA to use it)
Often I get a page saying "Well this is embarrassing, FF has encountered a problem … etc etc) I click restore and it restores fine. Is there any way I can introduce a eg. 2 second delay to prevent FF from tripping over itself in this way?
You can exclude FF from a session restore. KDE4 Systemsettings - Session management. That would avoid it from restarting in a new session.
You could also try this:
Start FF, go to “about:config”, then enter “crash” in the searchfield. Change the value of “browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash” to “false”.
Let us know what happened, and if this brings a solution to your issue.

re. your first suggestion, would that not stop it doing what I want it to do (??)
I will try the second one, but I think that would also stop it trying to restore… I like the restore thing, and am trying to use it as a “feature” I want to introduce a delay to the restore so that it does not “trip up”… anyhoo TY for the pointer, I’m off to about:config to have a tinker about…

Ok, I did not understand the behaviour itself was desired. Then all this would be normal. A lot of webpages are very dynamic in the way they are built, so pages will not be the same as when you left them. FF detects that and errors on it. A delay on the restore will not help.
