Hi, very new to opensuse. I have 64bit 11.3 and its been working very well.
My problem is that in Firefox: I have Firefox 3.6.12
when i scroll down using the mouse scroll wheel (not up?) most of the time, but not all the time i get horizontal lines instead of the “real picture”. This also happens when i use my keyboard’s down arrow key.
When i go slower it seems to happen less often.
Also if i click off the page and back on again the display is fine.
Is this problem my graphics card? Firefox? or my mouse/keyboard?
This is the only time it happens?
Thanks in advance. Phil

i remember having seen these or similar symptoms at one point; can’t
remember, unfortunately, what video driver or FF version i was running at
that time. i do remember that quite often i had to resize FF, to get rid
of such artefacts, like horzontal lines over the whole app. window. at
present that doesn’t happen anymore.
one thing that causes trouble is “smooth scrolling,” which by default is
enabled. you can turn it off from the “Edit” menu, Preferences -> advanced
-> Browsing. there’s also an option to use hardware accel. when available.
for me this doesn’t cause problems, but it’s a likely candidate.

Thanks phani,
removing the smooth scrolling has fixed it.
Cheers buddy
Still I think something might be wrong with your graphics driver. If I were You and had some time I would do some further research on that.
