Hi I want to configure the “back” shortcut in firefox to the backspace button but cant find the configure shortcut menu (if one exists) hitting ctl+ (back arrow) just isnt as convenient is there anyway to change this? also, anyway to configure the web address bar to highlight the address once I click on it? (three clicks is also not very convenient) thanks

And search for key “browser.backspace_action”, it should be “0”.
If it’s currently “0” and does not work, change it to “1”, close the browser
and test again. If that works, restore the “0” value again.

Thanks for some reason it was set to 2 by default.

yes I know of this shortcut but I just want to click on the address once (instead of 3 times) an have the whole address highlighted.

- hover your mouse pointer over the beginning point of the address
- press and hold left mouse button
- drag to the end of the address
- release left mouse button
the result is the entire address is highlighted AND automatically
stored in a clipboard memory…that is to say you may now (without
any more clicks on the address) place your mouse cursor over any place
that will accept the url, and double click…when you do the address
will appear in its new location!
OR, if you wish–while that original address is highlighted in the
address bar you may use key combinations to copy it (ctrl+c OR
ctrl+insert) to a different clipboard location…that is to say, note
unlike windows, Linux by default has TWO clipboard locations…one if
you only use the mouse sweep to highlight, and another one if you use
the keyboard keys…
