Firefox Frame is missing since updating to Leap 15.5

Since I updated my system to Leap 15.5 I’m not able to activate the KDE Frame and the title bar for the firefox window anymore. If I open the window configuration menu it shows that the title bar and the frame is deactivated, but the menu item is grayed out and I cannot change the setting. How can I enable the setting again?

@infinity-it:

This may well be a Mozilla cache issue –

  • If, you create a brand new test user and then, login to that user, does the Mozilla Firefox then behave correctly?

If Mozilla Firefox behaves correctly with a test user then, you’ll have to clean out the Mozilla cache(s).

  1. Backup your Mozilla Firefox Bookmarks.
  2. Take a note of your Mozilla Firefox settings – export any passwords you may have stored in the Browser.

Then, clean out everything in ‘~/mozilla/firefox/’ and ‘~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/’ –
Restart Mozilla Firefox and re-import your Bookmarks, settings and, if any, passwords.

I created a brand new test user, but it looks the same. I even installed a new system on another computer and it still looks the same. The title bar of the firefox window is missing and I’m not able to activate it.

Here a screen shot

Did you activate the “Title Bar” option in Firefox?

To do this you

  1. press the right mouse button while the mouse pointer is positioned in the Firefox toolbar
  2. select “Customize Toolbar …” and you should get a new tab called “Customize Firefox”
  3. on the bottom left side of this tab you can activate the “Title Bar” option

Thank you very much for your instructions. You are a really “Wise Penguin”. You made my day.

Well heck, I didn’t even know that was a thing. Thanks!

Although now my mouse is being weird about clicking on tabs =P I suppose a restart is in order

Yes. You have to restart your system. I had the same issue.

Restarting the system isn’t necessary, at least not in plasma-wayland, restarting firefox is sufficient.
