a site request to configure a proxy in the browser, in >firefox>settings>connection settings>Configure Proxy Access to the Internet>check Automatic proxy configuration URL>insert the url (something like https://luiss.it/httpgw.pac
then go to the site https://biblioteca.luiss.it/risorse-elettroniche/banche-dati/materia click on the link of interest, an id and password is asked, insert ID and password, enter in the banca dati.
in the same laptop with windows 10 works, with opensuse 15.3 doesn’t works.
how can I have firefox working with propxy in opensuse 15.3??
Not 100% sure I understand what is the problem.
Is it that you have institutional access and that is based on the IP address of the institute running the proxy?
If you want to check if your traffic is going through the proxy, check your open connection using “ss --ipv4”
I don’t know, the only thing I know is that in windows the instructions to enter in the site are to configure a proxy in the browser, in >firefox>settings>connection settings>Configure Proxy Access to the Internet>check Automatic proxy configuration URL>insert the url (something like https://luiss.it/httpgw.pac, and this in linux doesn’t works
Can you also share the link of interest, that helps giving support.
Like I wrote, can you check if Firefox is indeed using the proxy?
If the link of interest would be http://www.cepr.org/, I would use “dig www.cepr.org” to check for it’s IP address (in the ANSWER SECTION).
Then make sure you have only Firefox to the site running and issue “ss --ipv4”, is it showing a connection to one of these addresses?
