Firefox does not start - symbol lookup error.

Hi there!

I recently updated via DVD: 11.1 → 11.2

Since that firefox won’t start. When started in console, I get:

/usr/lib64/firefox/firefox: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: XRRGetScreenResourcesCurrent

The same with “cheese” by the way (but not too important for me):

cheese: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: XRRGetScreenResourcesCurrent

I tried to reinstall all the concerned backages (all mozilla*-packages and gtk2). Did not fix it. Any ideas?

Cheese:2.28.0.1-2.4
MozillaFirefox: 3.5.4-1.1.2
MozillaFirefox-branding-openSUSE: 3.5-8.9.1
Kernel: 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop (64-bit)

Help would be great… I have no clue.:frowning:

Just reinstalled opensuse 11.2 completley. Now it works fine. Thanks for your assistance anyway.

Sorry to bring up this old topic, but im having exactly the same issue. Firefox and Chromium output the same error message. Only Opera is still working.

OpenSUSE 11.1 x86_64

gabriel@dhcppc1:~> chromium
/usr/lib64/chromium/chrome: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: XRRGetScreenResourcesCurrent
gabriel@dhcppc1:~> firefox
/usr/lib64/firefox/firefox: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: XRRGetScreenResourcesCurrent

after updating Xorg now im getting this:

gabriel@dhcppc1:~> firefox
/usr/lib64/firefox/firefox: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libX11.so.6: undefined symbol: xcb_xlib_lock
