Firefox crash when opening a new tab

This morning firefox was working normal.
I think it was upgraded, then each time I open a new tab it crash (the tab), so I just can use one tab.
It happens in each profile. It happens in safe mode
It’s firefox 144.0 from mozilla repo

I think a bug, because I have read the same problem on the German mailing list from 2 users.

So you use a factory repo, open a bugreport.

i have just find that if open a new tab from a link this tab do not crash.
If I change in setting home-new tabs from “firefox default” to “blank page” new tabs do not crash either

The first step is to try upstream version.

The appimage on git works fine - just install in /opt/Mozilla and change the link to point there.

I too am seeing this issue on this version.

Just installed newer version and this works:
Version:144.0-lp156.8.1
Build Time:Sun 19 Oct 2025 15:23:06 BST

yep, today available version 144.0-lp156.8.1 solved it for me too.
