Firefox can not open filesystem menus, like "save as"

Hi there,

I have a little weird problem. Whenever I want (for example) save a file from the internet with Firefox, I can´t because Firefox does not open the “save as” window of Dolphin.
Also, when I want to save my bookmarks in Firefox, I can´t because Firefox can not open the “save as…” window.

There is no failure message, no crash, just nothing. Like as the request is simply ignored.

Any Ideas what might be wrong in my system? The system is OpenSuse 11.3 64 Bit with KDE 4.6 and all current updates.

would be great if someone had a hint where to look…

thanks
Steffen

I have seen this before, but I’ll be darned if I can remember what was behind it.
If you create a new ‘Test’ user account, does that work OK?

no, in the test user account it is the same. Does not work.

if I delete the .mozilla folder in my /home, would this help or do I then more harm to myself?

thank you!

Creating the new user gives you a new .mozilla
So no, leave it.

after I have switched some settings and back to the old state and deleted the whole history it works now. Maybe it was like they wrote: “Firefox has lost track of which folder to use for the downloads”. I also can save my bookmarks! Thank you very much!

Happy it helped
