Firefox and Online update not working...

Hi

I’m running Opensuse 3 on an EEE PC, and so far had no problems. I brought it to another house today and now Firefox seems to be unable to connect to the network… Network is working however, as Skype is running fine. Online update won’t work either. Any ideas what as to what could be causing this?

did qa grep to find suse version…says its 2.5.4-7.1.i586

kernel info: Linux 2.6.34-12-default #1 SMP

and the Network controller is Ralink RT2860… trying to connect via a Netopia Eircom router 0x21. Tried deleting cookies, restarting the os, both to no avail…any suggestions?

You can connect with skype but not with firefox? You can even make a call?

Somethings wrong with the router I think. Fierwall or something.

Turn off IVP6 maybe

yeah fixed it… what worked was turning off ivp6 in both networksettings of opensuse and then in firefox do an ‘about:config’ and toggle network.dns.disableipv6 to true
