Hi There,
Have a problem when trying to download firefox 3.0.1 addon on firefox addon website. This message appear after the connection idle for a while…"/home/kiddie/Desktop/adblock_plus-0.7.5.5-fx+tb+sm.xpi could not be saved, because the source file could not be read. Try again later, or contact the server administrator." -newbie-

Like the message said try again later the server maybe down

Solved!

Disable ipv6 setting on network adapter…

I had the same problem on my laptop (openSUSE 11.0) and can confirm that disabling IPv6 globally (YaST > Network Card > Global Settings) and rebooting as instructed by the resulting pop up does work.

Now can anybody tell me why?
Is there a simpler solution?
Should there be a bug report?

This seems fairly drastic to get Firefox addons to work. I run openSUSE 10.3 (with FF3 installed) at work have IPv6 enabled and can install addons fine.

It just seems to me like there shouldn’t need to be a kernel restart in order for an application to download something over https.
