Firefox 57 Quantum missing...

Does somebody know why Firefox 57 is not present in http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_Leap_42.2/It is present in http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_Leap_42.3/x86_64/

Leap 42.2 is still supported, right?

According to the OBS page https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/mozilla/firefox57# firefox57 is currently “disabled” for Leap 42.2 and built only for 42.3 and Tumbleweed.
According to this mailing list thread https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2017-11/msg00201.html the maintainer possibly met with build errors (or thought that Mozilla ESR was the way to go for the few months remaining to 42.2?).

If you want Firefox 57 in 42.2 just download the tar file from mozilla. You can extract it somewhere on your system (I use /usr/share), create a symlink to the executable in /usr/bin and it works fine.
I assume you know that it drops all your extensions and not all are replaceable.

Thanks, I’ll do that. Regarding the extensions, I have only Adblockplus and Privacybadger installed. Both should work with FF 57.

I installed FF 57 from firefox.com, works fine, including the extensions.
The only thing I don’t like is the filechooser dialog when saving files. I guess there’s no way to change it to the native KDE dialog?
It’s not a showstopper, just annoying.

Thanks again.

KDE dialog is SUSE patch, not available in mozilla oficial builds.
