I tried to install firefox 3 on a different manner :slight_smile: (copy the files to its directory)
I would like to create a short cut of firefox on my desktop and at the start menu, because i run my firefox in the shell like: ./firefox

Assuming Gnome since you didn’t specify… right-click, Create Launcher.

Good luck.

Within Terminal;

ln -s /path/to/firefox ~/Desktop/Firefox

Sorry, I am using kde :slight_smile:

If you’re on KDE4,

Desktop shortcut:
Just drag the firefox icon from file manager and drop it onto Folder View plasmoid. A small menu pops up. Select “Link here”

Menu shortcut:
Right click on start menu icon → Menu Editor → select a category/sub-category → click New Item in the top menu → Give a name and put path/to/firefox in Command field. Click Save.

Once done right click on the icon in start menu and click “Add to Favorites” to make it appear under favorites list.
