I recently installed opensuse 11 which came alongside with firefox 3.0b5
The performance of Firefox has been very poor, to the extent that the GUI hangs and a manual kill of the app is needed…
I remove the beagle-indexing package which comes along with the firefox package branded for SuSE to save some resource and while this improved the performance a bit Firefox is still generally hanging at stages reaching indecent CPU usage…
My CPU is an AMD Sempron 2800…
Anybody experiencing the same thing could share some tip?
I have the firefox 3.0.3 in opensuse 11 and have noticed that the systems does hang up every once and awhile. But I think that is more in part that I need to update flash and stuff like that.
Hi
Just a note it’s better to post your own thread rather than tacking
onto an existing one even if the subject is similar
If you look in preferences->Security have a look at disabling the two
“Tell me …” check boxes and restarting firefox.
You could also look at disabling IPV6 as well via YaST->
System-> /etc/syconfig Editor and search for “KDE_USE_IPV6” and set to
no.
