There’s a Firefox update go to Yast>Online Update & see if it persists.

true, YOU will install 16.0.1…
but, it is possible for 16 to have the same or a similar exit crash
problem–depending on whatever, if that happens see:

True, I first did the following:
zypper rm libproxy1-pacrunner-mozjs
Retrieving repository ‘Ham Radio repository’ metadata …[done]
Building repository ‘Ham Radio repository’ cache …[done]
Retrieving repository ‘Packman Repository’ metadata …[done]

Retrieving repository ‘Packman All’ metadata …[done]
Building repository ‘Packman All’ cache …[done]

Loading repository data…
Reading installed packages…
Package ‘libproxy1-pacrunner-mozjs’ not found.
Resolving package dependencies…
Nothing to do.
Firefox still exits with kwin message.
Did the updates, and about to do the reboot, (there was a kernel update in the mix.) However so far I see no change.
Maybe we should see your repo list

*FYI: Expect issues with multimedia using the VideoLan repo mixed with Packman
Followed instructions, and no change. I’m wondering if I’m suffering from a config issue, like with my previous experience with k3b?
Or maybe with kwin since it appears to be generating the message. I guess I need a strategy to save links/shortcuts/password out of Firefox, and try some kind of reset of the config. Thoughts?
And would you recommend pulling the VideoLan repo if what I need is on packman?
And would you recommend pulling the VideoLan repo if what I need is on packman?
Yes, but it can be trick.
Try disabling VideoLan
Then do a switch on the packman repo
To test if mozillia is messed up. Close firefox,
rename .mozilla to .mozilla-old
start firefox and try as it is and report back
And it appears to have gotten rid of the message on exit.
Now how do I recover bookmarks? I presume I just need to reinstall plugins manually, etc. Or is there a better recovery process?
Came up with my own recovery plan, and it’s now working as expected. Thanks to all for their assistance. Wil
Good to hear.
Typically, the best solution for bookmarks etc, if you don’t have a sync account is: in the original .mozilla
For Eg: .mozilla/firefox/3vbwf2j7.default/bookmarkbackups/
look for the latest dated json file and make a copy. Use it to import to your new setup
I was looking for a similar approach. What I did was I renamed the good .mozilla folder and copied the flawed one back temporarily, exported the bookmarks, then swapped things back to the good copy and imported them in. Still had to some minor editing of the layout, but that goes with the territory.
Again Thanks for the help. On to the next! I have one issue left coming up when I have more data to share.
