Hi,
On Fedora I didn’t need to do any configuration for GNOME to register my fingerprint reader and allow me to use it to authenticate. On openSUSE Tumbleweed it doesn’t. This is what I see in user accounts on Tumbleweed:

On Fedora fingerprint login is mentioned here. I have installed all fingerprint-related packages that came up with:
zypper se fprint
and the results were:
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
S | Name | Summary | Type
---+--------------------+-----------------------------------------------------------+--------
i+ | fprintd | D-Bus service for Fingerprint reader access | package
| fprintd-devel | Development files for fprintd | package
i | fprintd-lang | Translations for package fprintd | package
i+ | fprintd-pam | PAM module for fingerprint authentication | package
| fprintd-pam-32bit | PAM module for fingerprint authentication | package
| libfprint-devel | Library for fingerprint reader support (developer files) | package
| libfprint-examples | Library for fingerprint reader support (example programs) | package
i | libfprint0 | Library for fingerprint reader support | package
| libfprint0-32bit | Library for fingerprint reader support | package
I didn’t install the -32bit package or -devel, -examples as unless I am mistaken I do not think I need them and I don’t feel the need to waste disk space today.
Thanks for your time,
Brenton
