Does anyone know how to search for files under Gnome (Opensuse 12.3 (64bit)?
The standard ‘Files’ utility apparently has no option to search recursively through the directories.
I have also tried using the ‘locate’ utility from a terminal but it refuses steadfastly to return the path of any file I am looking for.
For months I have patiently navigated through the directories to locate my files, so I am obviously too stupid to find out how the ‘Files’ thing works.

Install gnome-search-tool
zypper in gnome-search-tool
after that press left win ==> type “search for files” without quotes .
That tool should do the job.
The hidden options in the tool can be enabled by clicking on “+ select
for more options”
