Finding compatible drivers for Nvidia mobile videocards

Nvidia mobile video cards have shorter support range than desktop ones. Try to use desktop drivers for mobile chips.

Another option: use Quadro with GeForce video drivers.
Quadro chips are nearly the same as GeForce chips. Moreover, some GeForce chips are Quadro chips with disabled functionality for CAD/CAM/CAE acceleration.

For instance, Quadro K2000M:
Latest Linux drivers were released in 2019.11.5: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/153717/en-us/
Latest Windows drivers were released in 2020.6.24: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/160351/en-us/

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units chip in use: GK107

Quadro K2000 (desktop) - drivers were released in 2022.5.16: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/188877/en-us/

Video cards with the same chip: GeForce GT 740, GeForce GT 750M.
Driver for GeForce GT 740 (desktop) from 2022.5.16: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/188877/en-us/
But for laptop it is from 2019.11.5: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/153717/en-us/.

Hi
Get a Turing device…

NVIDIA TU117GLM [Quadro T400 Mobile] driver: nvidia v: 515.48.07 (Dual MIT/GPL)

Added bonus has a hardware encoder and decoder.

When I got mine prices were down, but once see a further drop, plan on getting a T1000 to complement above and use that as primary graphics on this desktop.
